As part of the management team, play a key role responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations. This role will provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the company, ensuring prudence and profitability in compliance with government policies and regulations. Using enabling frameworks, policies, systems and industry best practices with associated tools to support program management and operations, this role will co-ordinate and provide direction on Integrated Risk Management and Lean Management Accounting principles to enhance performance, measurement, reporting and leadership in support of the management team’s vision and values. Key Accountabilities: Collaborate with and through business operations project teams: - Create, coordinate and evaluate financial programs and supporting reporting systems to include budgeting, tax planning, real estate, inventory and conservation of assets/resources - Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial management systems - Ensure compliance with federal, provincial and municipal financial reporting and auditing requirements - Approve and process revenue/expenditure and position control documents, department budgets, ledger and account maintenance - Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses and other informational reports - Develop and implement finance, accounting, cash management, billing and auditing procedures maintaining appropriate internal control safeguards to ensure reporting systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards - Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports and recommendations - Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects and programs - Analyze cash flow, cost controls, expenses and financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas to guide President & CEO - Contribute to the implementation of short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures
Qualifications: •Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA) •Five+ years experience in a manufacturing environment •Solid knowledge of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word •Excellent organizational/multitasking/time management skills with disciplined solid analytical, coordination, prioritization and follow-up abilities •Strong sense of initiative and team oriented contributor who is an effective, clear communicator •Ability to work independently with excellent listening skills and superior negotiation abilities •Comprehensive knowledge of change management, cost benefit control principles and financial reporting systems (including financial trending analysis and profitability projections)
